"Inside Out" is the third story in the book title The Circuit which tells stories from the life of a migrant child. The Circuit: • The Circuit Audiobook by Francisco Jimenez Cajas de cartón: • Cajas de cartón - Audiolibro - por Francis... Senderos Fronterizos: • Senderos Fronterizos Audiolibro por Franci... The Circuit - Introducción: • The Circuit by Francisco Jiménez Audiobook... This narrative offers a deeply moving portrayal of a #migrant family’s journey across California’s agricultural fields, living in a constant state of displacement. From strawberry fields to cotton fields, and from makeshift camps to improvised sheds, the work precisely reveals the hardships of agricultural labor and the instability that defines the migrant experience. Told from the perspective of a young boy who dreams of studying and gaining the fundamental right to choose a home, the story becomes a powerful testimony of resilience, faith, and hope. It is an emotional and intellectual journey that invites readers to reflect on #socialjustice, #education, and the struggle for a life of #dignity. Francisco Jiménez, the author of this work, emigrated from Tlaquepaque, Mexico, to California with his family. During his childhood, he worked in the same agricultural fields he describes in the book, which is why The Circuit (Cajas de cartón) is largely based on his personal experiences. Breaking Through (Senderos fronterizos), the continuation of The Circuit, is a completely autobiographical narrative that further explores his educational journey. Jiménez earned his master’s and doctoral degrees from Columbia University and currently directs the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Santa Clara University.
