Our department consists of 79 sworn members, 10 civilian members, 6 non-sworn community service officers, a police chaplaincy corps and an auxiliary police force. The City Of Fond du Lac has recently approved the hiring of 6 new police officers. The community also supported the building of a new indoor range and training center. Fond du Lac is a diverse community of 44,678 residents in the City and approximately 66,000 in the Fond du Lac metropolitan area. Fond du Lac is located on the shores of Lake Winnebago and in the heart of rapidly growing East-Central Wisconsin. Our community offers a variety of civic, cultural, recreational and other excellent quality of life amenities. The City of Fond du Lac Police Department utilizes a District Command model of policing- with a very strong emphasis on problem solving, intelligence/data analysis and community-based policing. Due to our emphasis on problem solving and prevention of crime and disorder, we are looking for officers that want to get very actively involved in this style of policing. Salary and Benefits Under the existing collective bargaining agreement, the 2022 salary range for Patrol Officers with the City of Fond du Lac Police Department is $57,456-$83,596.
