Is M2 REALLY the main villain of FNaF's new story?

Prior to Secret of the Mimic releasing, I was looking forward to how it would flesh out the Mimic as a villain most noteably: I wanted to know what impact the character would have on the story outside of just killing people, and I wanted to know what it's goals were. Secret of the Mimic didn't do this but instead gave this setup to a new character (M1) instead which I think could be setup for her being the real main villain of Five Nights at Freddy's' Mimic story arc.
