Discover Ushuaia through our unique two-week immersion! We'll give you an insider's perspective on daily life at the end of the world. We'll chat about climate, weather, money, dining, drinks hikes, penguins and tours. We also included some of our favorites: our-go-to bakery, meals, treks, and stops. We loved Ushuaia in Argentina! Majestic mountains, unforgettable hikes, pristine ocean, adorable penguins, and kind people—this amazing city in Patagonia, and at the "End of the World" , has it all. Plus, it was way less crowded than other Patagonian destinations that we visited! Although it's a popular cruise stop on the way to Antarctica, Ushuaia deserves its own dedicated vacation time. Climate & Weather We visited in January (summer), and temperatures were in the low 40s to high 50s F and enjoyed up to 18 hours of daylight! But be prepared for wind and sudden rain showers. Pack a scarf, balaclava, and rain gear. Money Credit cards were widely accepted, even for tips. Some places even took US dollars and provided change in Argentinean pesos. Food Scene We had lots of delicious rustic options and comfort foods, especially pastas, burgers, stews and risotto. Although the supermarkets had limited fresh produce, they did have plenty of frozen options. Penguin Tours We saw penguins in their natural habitat! There are many different tour options available. We opted for one that brought us close to the penguin island, but the boat ride back was quite an adventure! Hiking Adventures If you love hiking, Ushuaia is your paradise. There are trekking options for all skill levels. We especially loved the hikes to Laguna Esmeralda and Laguna Turquesa.
