The next generation of Heavy Equipment Technicians are being trained daily at the Operating Engineers 324 Construction Career Center in Howell, Michigan. Heavy Equipment Technicians are the mechanics that keep the excavators, dozers, cranes, and other equipment running - eliminating downtime and making sure our work building Michigan continues with as little interruption as possible. Apprentices gain skills like engine diagnosis and repair, tool identification, hydraulics, electrical and fuel systems repair, and welding, among other skills. Apprentices and journeypersons work for our signatory contractors in-house, or in the field visiting job sites!
