You have to be very lucky to see moose in Yellowstone these days, and this video explains where you can possibly find moose in areas outside Yellowstone National Park, but still in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Moose was the one species which was adversely affected by the huge Yellowstone fire which occurred in 1988. It wasn't as if lots of moose were killed in the fire. They weren't, but moose like to be able to take cover under the shelter of trees in a forest, and when the forests were badly burned, moose migrated out of the park to areas with greater concentrations of trees. Many locals in the Yellowstone area know where you have a good chance of seeing moose. The obvious ones are Grand Teton and Jackson Hole, but there are other places closer to the west entrance of Yellowstone where your odds are just as good!
