Most of them are arrangements of his own music. The concerto for four harpsichords is based on Vivaldi’s concerto for four violins. Still this is the real Bach in all his orchestral splendour. It is hard not to be affected by this music, especially in such persuasive performances. Sowing machines or musical instruments?
