Manjhi alleged that in 2020, Anil Kumar was trailing by 2700 votes but contacted him for help, leading to a recount and victory by 2630 votes through alleged intervention with the District Magistrate. In 2025, despite trailing by only 1600 votes and later losing by 2058 votes to RJD's Ajay Kumar, Anil Kumar did not seek his help and "fled the field." HAM won 5 out of 6 contested seats.
