text last updated 17 April 2025 I forgot to note in the video that this technique also works inside a Makeshift Tent. Item cancellation for Switch users: • Palia: Console Item CancelingTutorial a Tiny Dragon's YouTube Channel: / @atinydragon Things that can go wrong and how to prevent them from going wrong. 1. Doing this float actually anchors your float/sink to the wall of the Harvest House/Room/Makeshift Tent. So if you leave it like that you have to make sure to not move or remove the Harvest House/Room/Makeshift Tent, otherwise the foat/sink will move with or in case of if you remove your Harvest House/Room/Makeshift Tent your float/sink will be removed too. My recommendation is that when the Float/Sink is done to place a Builders Block on the ground and than cancel place your float/sink item on top of or next to that Builders Block, then group select it with that block and place it where you want it. This can be the same place as you already have it. This should detach it from the wall and anchors it to the ground. 2. Make sure you don't rotate the thing you want to float/sink while it is on the wall in it's cancel-placed state. Doing this will result in your item going to another place on your plot. During testing this technique I had many times that I accidentally rotated my cancel placed item which made me having to look for them. So pay close attention to this. Especially while you are in the stage where you have to move your item up or down with multi select on the lowest block. 3. The Anchorless Wall Float/Sink will only work at a maximum distance of 12 big grid squares or 6 builders floors away from the Wall. This only counts for the 180-degree angle from the wall. I've not found any limit for the 90-degree angle from the wall and only when you keep it anchored to the wall. 4. If you place the block that you move the cancel placed object with on top of a piece of furniture, builders block or Terrance it will be anchored to that. after that you can't adjust its position without redoing the whole float/sink. 5. There are limits to how high and low you can anchorless float/sink things. When it is anchored to the outside ground you can float up to a maximum height of 6 Small Builders Crated stacked on top of each other. For sinking it into the ground this way the maximum depth is 9/10 of a Small Builders Crate. When it is anchored to the wall or floor of a house or room, a builders block or any piece of furniture you can float things much more high and low. 6. Make sure there are no other builders blocks on the other side of the wall since it might be caught with the multi select and ruin your float/sink. 7. Not every spot on every wall will let you (cancel-) place a block. Sometimes you need to find another spot on the wall. Other times you need to rotate the block you try to place on the wall. Make sure the thing that you want to float/sink won't rotate while doing this. And sometimes you need to try it with different kinds of builders blocks. I use the builders floor block as my block to move because they have a nice multi select range compared to their size. But any builders block should work as long as you manage to multi select with it. I've also found that on the outside wall it won't always let you move your blocks up when your top block is (cancel) placed on the stone part of the wall and your lower block on the wood part on the wall. So I recommend placing them both on the stone parts of the wall. 8. You can also float/sink structures made out of builders blocks. If you do this you want to make sure every single block is connected to each other. Blocks that are not connected won't move with the rest after you place them with multi select. 9. The Rotational Wall Float/Sink works differently than a regular rotational float/sink. With a regular one you anchor it to something else which makes that you need to think your rotational angle mirrored from what you see while performing the Float/Sink. What we do in this video is much more simple. The rotational angle you see on the wall is what you will get when the Float/Sink is done. But even than you can still adjust it.
