www.sacredcirclehomestead.org www.gofundme.com/help-sacred-circle-grow These are a tasty fall treat that we wait all summer long for. Nannyberries are part of the Viburnum family, and are native to the Northeast part of the country. Their native range actually extends almost to the midwest. They are a great wild food to start with if you're new at identifying plants, and they are hard to mix up with anything, just smush them first to make sure you see their pudding like texture and their oval pit. They have a very pleasant, mildly sweet taste. Kind of like a banana. They are found often on stream banks, and on the edges of wetlands. They are a fantastic native plant that is easily found and identified. The berries in summer (forgot to mention this in the video) are hard and green and red. They ripen up and turn blue and black after a frost or two. Hope you enjoyed our video! Don't forget to subscribe and happy foraging or identifying friends!
