Taal: the Heritage Town and its Traditional Burda (Burdang Taal)

The beautiful town of Taal in Batangas, Philippines is a heritage town and a living legacy of the Spanish colonization. The town is brimming with ancestral houses, flashing history before your very eyes. It is also famous for the Basilica of St. Martin de Tours, the largest Catholic church in Asia. But aside from these, the town is the keeper of a traditional embroidery known as the Burdang Taal which is making ends meet to survive competition and modernity. This video documentary is produced in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the subject ASEAN 222 - Art in the ASEAN Region. All photos and videos are taken using a BlackBerry Q5 smartphone.
