Cervical and brachial plexuses arise from the cervical enlargement. the lumbar and sacral plexuses arise from the lumbar enlargement. 2. Therefore, pia matter ligaments are important to prevents the longitudinal or horizontal displacement of the spinal cord. Lumbar cistern is the subarachnoid space below the spinal cord.
