Kratos has the physique of a bodybuilder and the strength of a powerlifter/strongman. He exerts this power in an extremely functional manner: wrestling monsters, pulling sleds, and launching his axe. As you guys know, I like to combine training modalities in unique ways. This way, we can build a routine to emulate pretty much any physique or skillset. My take on a Kratos workout, is to use a "powerbuilding" structure by combining heavy lifts with lighter, higher-rep work. But rather than using powerlifting and bodybuilding, we're going with a slightly more "functional" approach. Not to say that powerlifting isn't functional, of course! Simply, that we're using tools that are more commonly associated with functional training. Tools like kettlebells and Bulgarian bags... but also logs, rocks, and even cars. This Kratos workout is less like powerbuilding, then, and more like "strongman high intensity functional training." But that doesn't exactly roll off the tongue...
