Luigi reaches Floor 12: The Great Catch, but his ascent comes to a sudden halt. Professor E. Gadd calls Luigi back to the lab with urgent news: one of the Toads was sent to retrieve a crucial Poltergust-G00 upgrade part from the B2 Boilerworks—and is now trapped among the ghosts. Luigi heads back underground, navigating the flooded machinery and locating the frightened Toad hiding in a box. In the central hub, Luigi spots the missing Poltergust part perched on a high ledge. With no way to reach it directly, Luigi comes up with a creative solution—launching the Toad up to retrieve it. Getting back isn’t easy. A powerful ghost blocks the exit, forcing Luigi to make a long detour through the Boilerworks, using the Toad to grab unreachable items and even smash through brick walls. After defeating a sleeping red ghost with the help of Gooigi, Luigi finally returns to the lab, where Professor E. Gadd upgrades the Poltergust-G00 with the powerful Super Suction.
