Zamri Vinoth and Tamim Dahri's “HOLIDAY” In Thailand

Zamri Vinoth and Tamim Dahri, two of Malaysia's most controversial social media figures, have apparently decided that a holiday in Thailand was the right move just as the IGP announced a full manhunt for both of them. Whether you want to call it a vacation, a strategic retreat, or melarikan diri, the optics are about as subtle as stepping on a trishula and claiming you were just moving sharp metal around. The police are looking, the media is talking, and their loyal followers are already warming up the usual script about akhir zaman and how we are the ones who are lalai. The irony here is almost too rich to ignore. These are people who have spent considerable energy mocking the police, calling them barua, and encouraging their audiences to undermine law enforcement at every turn. And now, when the authorities come knocking with perfectly legitimate questions, they have vanished across the border like they have somewhere better to be. If they did nothing wrong, cooperation costs them nothing. If they did something wrong, then the drama they are currently generating only makes things worse for themselves. Either way, the solution is the same, and it does not involve a Thailand itinerary. What happens next is anybody's guess, but if history is any indicator, expect a carefully worded post explaining that they did not run and that the word melarikan diri is actually a colonial imposition or something. Maybe a donation link for an NGO will appear shortly after. The Malaysian IGP has made his statement, the media has made theirs, and until these two gentlemen decide to cooperate with an investigation, this is the drama we have been handed on a Saturday morning.
