Welcome to Brașov, Romania — one of the most picturesque cities in Transylvania and home to a truly magical Christmas market in Council Square! This is the 4th stop on our 7-city Romania Christmas market road trip, and even though our visit fell on a weekend (meaning huge crowds!), the festive charm of Brașov still shined through. Set against a stunning mountain backdrop, Council Square (Piața Sfatului) was filled with glowing lights, gingerbread-style stalls, carousels, local treats, and even live performances and Christmas caroling. It felt like stepping straight into a holiday postcard! We also discovered a smaller, cozier market just around the corner from the main square — the perfect place to start with a cup of hot cocoa, sweet treats, and a little peace from the weekend rush. While we didn’t stay long due to the crowds, Brașov’s Christmas market left a lasting impression — and we can only imagine how magical it must feel on a quiet weekday evening.
