Around 80% of the houses here are made of mud, and farming is still done through traditional methods. The village has an old, beautiful mosque built before the Partition of Punjab. Before 1947, both Hindus and Muslims lived here, and the Hindu community owned many shops. Life in Bahawal Kot still follows the customs of the old times — from the vintage flour mill and cotton press to the ancient way of living. Despite having mud houses, the village offers all basic facilities including two government schools, a union council office, an animal hospital, and a dispensary. There is also an old “Baradari” where local disputes were once resolved like a village court. Bahawal Kot is built on a small mound, and almost every house has a tree. Nearby villages include Walgan Sohail, Mehmoodpura, Chandar Kot, Baghoore, Kachi Kothi, Daulat Pur, Adampura, Hussainpur Chattha, and Machralah.
