While shopping around for other stuff, I purchased the gun on a whim from Dunham’s Sports for a web advertised sale only of $309. I cleaned the gun before shooting it the first time. It had a few metal shavings laying in the works but otherwise looked fine. I am not impressed with the trigger – internally the rotating shaft is only mounted/supported on one side, allowing for deflection/sloppiness. This is amplified as the trigger then actuates the action through a 6”, or longer, shaft that runs back to the firing pin action. This is a natural design aspect of a bullpup, with the trigger in front of the clip, that adds complexity and friction. I would have preferred to see the trigger pivot action supported on both ends. It works but is rather crude and stiff feeling. Went to my brother’s place (parent’s former home on 4 acres) just outside the city of Oberlin, where shooting is permitted. After watching the Indy 500 and cooking some “smash burgers” on the grill, we set up an improvised shooting range using the fire pit. Downrange (south) about a quarter mile, of what used to be a soybean field now owned by the city, is the Cleveland Air Traffic Control Center. My father rewired the entire new control room several years ago, while maintaining the existing control room and the backup control room, and then the transition from the old to the new. He got Rick and I through security and showed us some of his work. I watched folks hovering over their large scopes in a darkened work area through the missing ceiling tiles. Also saw the battery backup room using old style 2 volt Edison Batteries in pristine condition, among many other things. Very interesting. Cleveland Air Route Traffic Control Center - Wikipedia Other videos I have watched on YouTube show this gun being fired without the same number of issues I had. However, they were using hotter rounds with velocities in the 1500 range. I was not able to find this hotter ammo locally, and actually was interested in testing the gun with cheaper rounds. After buying the box of Remington’s from Dunham’s for about $23 (to make up for selling the gun on sale?), I decided to buy some cheaper at WalMart – about $10 – but, as can be seen, it did not perform well. I am guessing that it will take another 100 or more rounds to break the gun in, and I should maybe check online for higher velocity rounds to help facilitate this. From what I have read and seen online, higher velocity rounds are required for this gun to shoot well. I probably won’t shoot the gun again until the Fall; I have other things to do. The gun is cleaned, in the closet, and loaded with 3 rounds. After about 40 rounds of mixed ammo, it did cycle a full clip of the lowest velocity (cheapest) rounds once, after initially failing to even cycle a round; that I failed to film. So, I am assuming it will break-in and function better with more use. One user even suggested just hand actuating the gun several hundred times before using it with ammo. Anyway it looks cool, feels good in the hand, and was inexpensive compared to its earlier, elevated $600 or more price. You folks that get snookered into panic buying and paying too much for a gun, “Cuz thar gunna take’m away from y'all”, might want to rethink your panic purchasing.
