SNTF 060 DJ 02 and SNCFT 060 DP 147 at Tunis Ville

Algerian Railways (SNTF) and Tunisian Railways (SNCFT) recently introduced a new international service linking Annaba (Algeria) and the Tunisian capital Tunis via Souk Ahras and Ghardimaou. At the moment the service runs three round trips per week. This brings the unaccustomed sight of SNTF locomotives and coaches all the way to Tunis. Usually the train is worked by a pair of DJ class locos, with 060 DJ 02 and 060 DJ 25 (GE U18C of 1977) being the regular performers and 060 DJ 18 being the reserve. On this occasion, the train was worked by 060 DJ 02 alone. It is seen departing Tunis Ville with Train TM1, the 08:25 departure to Annaba. Also visible in the background is 060 DP 147 (Bombardier MX624S of 1984) which had worked into Tunis Ville on train 5/90, the 00:05 ex Gabes. It is propelling the stock out for servicing.
