Maple Leaf Slaughterhouse Lockdown

On Monday, the 19th of August, 2019, animal liberation activists conducted a groundbreaking action at Maple Leaf Foods Slaughterhouse in Toronto. Four activists chained their arms inside a cement block on the kill floor, while another group of activists liberated 4 birds from their imminent deaths. The women who locked down on the kill floor managed to stop production of the facility for an astonishing 6 hours, while generating mass awareness. Maple Leaf is on track to take 100 million more lives this year, and is currently building a new slaughterhouse that will receive $62 million tax dollars from the government. This new facility will slaughter half a million birds each day. This action was to bring attention to these atrocities, and show that we will not passively allow such massive injustices to continue. We will rescue those we can, and bring justice to those we can't.
