Day 11 - A Fascinating Experience! | Kherbit el Mard to Mar Saba- Tal el- Qamar

Day 11: today we are going to hike up to end at Tal el-Qamar. We will start at Kidron Valley which is the home of caves previously inhabited by Byzantine monks. Overnighting in Al Khirba (name of a cave) is a life time experience. Watching the moon and the stars as well the sunrise from inside the cave is phenomenal! We will start our day hike up towards the spectacular Mar Saba Monastery, a great resting point to enjoy the monastery view and learn more about its geographical and religious history. The trail then takes us through the countryside leading up to Tal el-Qamar. Tal el-Qamar means “Hill of the Moon” as it is the perfect spot to stargaze and watch the moon. There, in the middle of the wilderness, a guesthouse with Bedouin features will be welcoming us where we can experience another authentic Bedouin lifestyle meal and overnight.
