The Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 50 is the most powerful production GTI ever built. It is equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged EA888 engine producing 239 kW, or 325 PS, and 420 Nm of torque. This represents a 44 kW increase over the standard GTI and a 20 Nm increase over the GTI Clubsport. Power is delivered to the front wheels through a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission, combined with an electronically controlled front differential lock. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 5.5 seconds. In April 2025, the Edition 50 completed the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7:46.13, setting a record time for a production GTI. The chassis features a MacPherson strut front axle and a multi-link rear axle. The ride height is lowered by 15 mm compared to the standard GTI. The vehicle includes adaptive DCC suspension and progressive steering. The front differential lock is optimized for better traction and cornering performance. Combined, the Performance package reduces total weight by approximately 30 kg, lowering unsprung and rotating mass to improve responsiveness and handling precision. The interior of the Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 50 maintains a functional and performance-oriented layout. It features premium sport seats with perforated black leather and red accents, along with "GTI" lettering and Edition 50 badging. The digital cockpit and infotainment system are updated with GTI-specific graphics. Additional interior details include stainless steel pedals, a multifunction sport steering wheel with red stitching, and a black headliner for a focused driving environment.
