Join Ashley as she takes you on a tour of ReadMe Refactored, diving in to our new Editing UI and setting up bi-directional syncing with GitHub. Our new editing UI brings all docs editing to your live hub, allowing ReadMe users to make edits directly in the docs and easily preview content and appearance changes before they go live. Our entire editor is now fully MDX-powered. MDX combines the simplicity of Markdown with JSX, providing content creators and developers alike with a familiar syntax to create dynamic and interactive documentation. ReadMe Admins can create and use reusable MDX components, as well as access five pre-built MDX components—cards, accordion, tabs, columns, and mermaid.js diagrams— that live in the editor slash menu of Guides and API Reference pages. Additionally, now all docs hosted on ReadMe are backed by Git. Git-powered docs have more granular page history, better version control, and bi-directional syncing capabilities between ReadMe and GitHub. Now, your cross-functional team can write docs wherever they work best. We decided to let Git handle history, merging and branching, and ReadMe acts as a UI on top of it so you’ll be able to manage your docs the same way you manage your code. In this video, Ashley demonstrates how to set up the connection and how to access information in both ReadMe and GitHub.
