Bonginkosi Thato Mavuso (b. 1988) in Soweto, South Africa. His first interaction with art was at school and did school projects which included drawing for a couple of his friends for a fee. When his mother passed away in 2000, he went deep into art and I met people who introduced him to different types of art. Instead of drawing with pencils and charcoals, he went into pastels, watercolours and oil paint. After years of honing his skills and making his work visible on different social media platforms, galleries, hotels and restaurants. Local and international clients are acquiring his work in volumes. Currently the artist is working with Soweto Kliptown Youth (SKY) engaging in artistic programs with children. Mavuso's work can also be seen on walls/murals in and around Soweto and Johannesburg in which he has collaborated with several artists of his caliber, Graphic and Fine artist's alike. His numerous group exhibitions include Joburg Fringe, panel selected group exhibition, The Art Room, Jhb, and Turbine Art Fair, Gallery 2, Jhb. He is one of the founders of MAKEBA Designs & Collectables (PTY) Ltd in 2021 in partnership with Kebaabetswe Letau who's a wood worker and designer.
