Are you ready for an epic adventure? In this video, you will meet two amazing ultra runners who have achieved incredible feats of endurance and speed: Dan Lawson and Carla Molinaro. They will share their stories, insights and tips on how they ran the LEJOG, one of the most iconic and challenging routes in the UK. LEJOG stands for Land's End to John o'Groats, which is the distance from the southwestern tip of England to the northeastern point of Scotland. It is about 874 miles (1,407 km) long and crosses some of the most beautiful and diverse landscapes in Britain. Many cyclists, walkers and runners attempt this route every year, but only a few manage to complete it in record time. Dan Lawson is a British ultra runner and charity worker from Brighton. He has won several prestigious races and events around the world, such as the European 24 Hour Championships, the Grand Union Canal Race, and the Spartathlon. In August 2020, he completed the LEJOG in 9 days, 21 hours, 14 minutes and 2 seconds, setting the fastest time with robust supporting evidence. He ran an average of 80 miles (129 km) per day, wearing second-hand clothes and shoes that people had given away. Carla Molinaro is also a British ultra runner, adventurer and running coach. She has represented Great Britain at the 100km World Championships and won a gold medal at the Comrades Marathon, the oldest and largest ultra marathon in the world. In July 2020, she set a new female world record for the LEJOG, running 1,327 km in 12 days, 30 minutes and 14 seconds. She averaged 69 miles (111 km) per day, supported by her family and friends. In this video, Dan and Carla will discuss their LEJOG experiences, from the highs and lows of their journeys, to the challenges and rewards of running such a long distance. They will also give you some advice on how to prepare for your own LEJOG attempt, or any other ultra running goal you may have. You will learn about their training methods, nutrition strategies, mental toughness techniques, and more. This video is a must-watch for anyone who loves running, adventure, or simply witnessing human potential. Dan and Carla are not only amazing athletes, but also inspiring individuals who have shown that anything is possible with passion, dedication and hard work.
