A self-soothing, metaphysical landscape, the world of Serenia harbours the feeling of being held timelessly by a mother’s love, rooted in the non-linear nature of childhood grief. The single is accompanied by animated artwork from the brain of lucid dreamer Alfie Dwyer (@ze.zima), who has become a household name in the Blender world, rendering surreal voyages into absurd and beautiful realms. With existing works for Adult Swim, Eric Andre, Sad Night Dynamite, Thundercat and Flying Lotus in his expansive portfolio, Alfie’s visual translation of Serenia encapsulates the dream-like, disoriented experience of organic memory, infused with the warm hues and gentle breath of maternal love. Released on Waldo's Gift's label, Giftshop Records, Serenia forms the first offering of 2023 from producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, t l k. Based in Bristol, t l k stretches the thin fabric of selfhood, residing between the ethereal and the mundane. Fluid in genre and form, with a deep commitment to introspection, the t l k sound is permeating the Bristol scene, with debut EP “Strength In Tenderness” (2022) quickly solidifying her as 'one of the city's most exciting experimental artists' (BBC Introducing).
