Tulpamancy - the practice of deliberately creating new system members, i.e. tulpas - is a practice subject to many misconceptions and misunderstandings, from both non-plurals and other plurals. This session seeks to dispel some of these myths, and give a broad background as to what tulpamancy is, what tulpamancers/hosts do, and what the community currently looks like. It will provide an overview of the history of the community, its origins, current and former practices, and techniques used by tulpamancers. Other forms of plurality will be compared and contrasted. Time will be made available for Q&A. bduddy bduddy is a tulpamancer, who discovered tulpas in 2015 and, after dithering on the topic for a long time, finally took the leap and decided to make a headmate in 2017. Ever since his tulpa Diana talked to him one fateful day that October, he hasn't looked back. He currently runs the Discord server Tulpa Chat, one of the largest servers for hosts, tulpas, future hosts, and other interested parties to congregate, discuss, share tips, and simply chat - he is also active on broader plural servers hoping to learn, help, and grow. Along with Diana he is hoping to learn more about tulpamancy and plurality and hopefully do whatever we can to help the whole world to accept us. He is not otherwise publicly plural, but hopes this can become a reality some day.
