On 10th May 1940, as thousands of Panzers and hundreds of thousands of men stood poised on the borders of Germany to begin a massive offensive into France and the Low Countries, 11 gliders carrying 85 elite paratroopers silently crossed the night sky. Their target? A massive, state-of-the-art fortress — one of the most heavily defended positions on earth. In this video, using the latest technology, wartime maps, historical and modern-day footage, and the personal testimonies of those who were there, we’ll follow these men and uncover the extraordinary operation that history remembers as the battle for Eben Emael.
