Cone Blank Calculator - https://www.cmrp.com/cone-calculator Website - www.wdmrolls.com In this video we go over the correct rolling procedure for rolling cones on a 3 roll initial pinch plate roll, machine capacity, cone blank and more. You first need to review the cone size you are looking to roll and then determine if your machine is capable of rolling the cone. As a general rule of thumb cone capacity is figured at half of cylinder capacity. So to roll a cone 3ft wide out of 1/4" material you would need a 1/4" x 6ft machine. Once you know your cone is within your machines capacity you need to make sure that you have a cone attachment. Now you will need to cut out a cone blank that matches the cone you are wanting to achieve. Rolling Procedure - Secure cone attachment at the proper place. Unlatch the trim coupler latch and trim the bending roll to the desired taper. Raise the bending roll to a position to roll the cone 65-80% closed in the first pass. Adjust the pinch pressure so it is only gripping the outside diameter of your cone blank. Insert the cone blank into the starting groove to square the part. Use the footswitch to roll the blank making sure to stop right before the material pops out from between the top and pinch rolls. Now move the cone attachment to the other end of the machine. Adjust the pinch and bending roll trim in the other direction. Raise the bending roll to position to close the cylinder. Insert the 65-80% closed cone blank in the starting groove. Make sure the part is only gripped on the outside diameter. Using the footswitch roll the cone through being careful not to roll overlapping material. Swing the cone attachment down. Release the latch handle and swing out the top roll and remove your part. 0:00 Intro 0:23 Overview 0:48 Cone Size 1:05 Machine Capacity 2:20 Cone Attachment 2:45 Cone Blank 3:28 Rolling Procedure 13:18 Tips 14:27 Outro
