James Watt 2019 Engaging Schools

This short video shows schools' engagement with James Watt 2019 and explores Watt as a focus of cross-curricular study in schools in Birmingham. James Watt 2019 is a heritage project discovering the life and achievements of Watt (1736-1819) through an exhibition at the Library of Birmingham, and a diverse range of events and activities. The project promotes the extensive resources in Birmingham related to Watt and the wider story of the Industrial Revolution. The schools learning aspect has been led by heritage education team Mrs History and has involved many schoolchildren and teachers across the city. James Watt 2019 is a National Lottery Heritage Funded project to mark the bicentenary of James Watt is delivered by a host of heritage partners and coordinated by the Lunar Society.
