They started off playing in small events in universities and local cultural centers. As a band، they have slowly discovered that what they do is more of a show rather than a conventional concert, with audience interaction playing an integral part of the show. The band naturally evolved from playing conventional songs to doing humorous sketches during their performances. The issues they address bring taboos to the surface and it seems to be gaining recognition among their audience. Description It is hard to define the sound of Like Jelly since the music brings together influences from all over the world. At a Like Jelly show you may here Egyptian shaabi, rock music, rap, pop or melodies that remind you of Broadway musicals. It is a mix and the band prefer not to box themselves in. The selection of instruments (guitar, bass, tabla, riq, dof, xylophone and harmonica) may give you a better idea of how the music is like. من فعاليات مهرجان "أفقي". يقدم مهرجان "أفقي" نوعيات متعددة من الموسيقى على مدار خمسة أيام متتالية عن طريق مجموعة من الأنشطة الموسيقية و عروض الأفلام , مما يعطي الفرصة للجمهور أن يتفاعل بشكل يومي مع الموسيقى و صانعيها وتاريخها ومجالات إنتاجها. أغلب المهرجانات التي تستضيف عروض موسيقية حية في شكل حدث كبير و مكثف متضمنة العديد من الموسيقيين والأنواع الموسيقية المختلفة تباعا على مدار فترة قصيرة ( يوم أو اثنين ). جزء من اسلوب العمل الأفقي وهدفه هو إعطاء الفرصة للجمهور لدمج المهرجان في الحياة اليومية. OUFUQY is a musical forum presenting various types of music along five days through a group of musical activities and movies screening; giving a chance to the recipient audience to have a daily contact wit the music, its makers, its history and its production field. The festival's name "Oufuqy" directly translates as "horizontal." "Most festivals that host live concerts come in the form of a large condensed event over a short period (1-2 days) with many musicians and different genres playing one after the other. Part of the "horizontal" approach is to give the audience the opportunity to integrate the festival into their daily activities.
