Check out other weapons - • Dynasty Warriors: Origins Crescent Blade is currently one of the most broken weapons in the game thanks to the double hit bug on Great Mountain Throw. A normal GMT does about 5 bars worth of fortitude damage, but with the bug you are able to hit the target twice with the shockwave which doubles the amount of damage and fortitude damage they take, making this the most cost effective battle art in the game along with another similar skill on the Gauntlets. To do this, simply cast GMT normally on an enemy officer and hit Power Shot or Palm Strike the moment you hear the explosion. The timing is quite lenient but it may take some practice to get it right. If done properly the target will take over 3k damage and in Lu Bu's case he will break 9-10 bars of fortitude. This can be done with any [Sp.] battle art so we use the cheapest ones available. If you have Huanglong's Disc it is recommended to use Power Shot as it costs the same amount of bravery as Palm Strike. Outside of the bug the Crescent Blade isn't a weak weapon either. It has access to a great moveset that includes knock up combos and strong battle arts but you will need to learn the charge level mechanic for the Crescent Blade in order to bring out its maximum potential. Normally when you load into the map your priority should be to use stationary Heavy spam to farm bravery and Crescent Blade charge on troops. Once you get some charge levels going you can use Light-Light-Guard Heavy (hold) to do a knock up combo and finisher. It is important to make sure you have at least one charge before doing this combo or it won't work, and you have to use it after 2 Light Attacks because the second hit has the highest stunlock out of the three Light Attacks. Here are the battle arts that I recommend: Relentless Whirl Slash and Dragon Tail Swipe for a cheap filler damage option that doesn't use charges. Both do around the same damage and are good for enemies with less than 4 fortitude. Azure Dragon Bellow for a strong nuke with decently high cost. This battle art scales with your charge level but doesn't consume it, so you should always be using it only when you have max charges. Star Sunder Slash is another strong battle art that does high damage and fortitude damage at a low cost, the only downside is that it consumes your Crescent Blade charges. One tip with this battle art is that if you use it immediately after Guard Heavy (hold) it carries over the charge level from that combo so you can do a full level 2 Guard Heavy into Star Sunder Slash seamlessly. And of course Great Mountain Throw is your staple high damage high AOE nuke that is the staple skill of Crescent Blade. I already talked about the double hit bug above but even without the bug it's still a great skill that can clear waves of high level enemies. The downside is that it is a short range grapple so it can be prone to missing if you are too far away. Overall the Crescent Blade holds the title of strongest weapon in the game right now if they don't patch the bug. It is still a strong weapon without it though and can be very fun to play if you learn the tricks to it.
