Demand to Reopen Doranda’s Lifeline Old High Court Road | Alok Kumar Dubey Raises Public Issue

The demand to reopen the Old High Court Road, considered the lifeline of Ranchi’s Doranda area, has once again gained momentum. Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Alok Kumar Dubey has strongly raised this issue, stating that there is no justification for keeping the road closed after the Jharkhand High Court has been shifted to Dhurwa. Due to the closure of this road, the daily lives of lakhs of people have been severely affected. Daily wage laborers, school children, college students, small shopkeepers, and the general public are facing immense difficulties. Doranda College alone witnesses around 15,000 students daily, and Doranda Market — the largest market in Ranchi — serves people from Namkum, Hinoo, Ashok Nagar, Kadru, Harmu, Pundag, Dhurwa, and Tupudana. Alok Kumar Dubey informed that a delegation of religious and social organizations from Doranda will meet the Secretary of the Road Construction Department on 6th February to formally request the reopening of the road. He also mentioned that the Deputy Commissioner, Manjunath Bhajantri, has assured that the administration is taking the matter seriously and necessary steps will be taken soon. “This is not just a road; it is the lifeline of Doranda.
