“Finding Milo” is the last Four Hour Wonder of 2018 Film Production School lecture phase. Our speaker for Directing week gave the prompts: a dog named Milo, time travel, and the colour purple. It was a difficult task but came out to a success. Enjoy! The Film Production School is a second-level school run out of Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Perth, Australia. Students and staff attend three months of lectures about the craft of film and God’s place in the art of storytelling before going on outreach for three months. Every weekend, our students make a “Four Hour Wonder”: a short film made from start to finish in only four hours. The students get different roles every week, getting to practice directing, camera operating, sound design, and editing. All parts of producing a short film in four hours help with learning creative problem solving and it takes away the pressure of making a “perfect film” and leaves room to just have fun and enjoy the art if filmmaking.
