The Columbia Big Band returns for what is fast becoming one of our characteristic performances - teaming up with Gottaswing for an evening of dancing at Carroll Baldwin Hall in Savage, MD! This historic mill-town always brings a great crowd looking to trot out their fancy feet and have a musical evening under the stars. While the band sweat it out in the sun and heat, the shaded green and cool dance floor made for a blast of an event! Jazz standards aren't always hits on release. Sid Wyche and Maybe Watts wrote "Alright, Okay, You Win" in 1955 and that same year saw it released by at least four major artists, including the Count Basie Orchestra, yet all failed to chart until Peggy Lee got hold of the tune in 1958, reaching number 68 on the Billboard chart and entering the musical lexicon of the midcentury songbook.
