Indigenous arts are a part of the fiber that makes our society. Each woven thought of brightly colored thread encompasses our teachings, lifestyles, survival, and contribution to this great land. The Indigenous way of seeing provides the "why" to many unanswered questions to acknowledge the Indigenous impact. Why do we need to know how it is made? Why do we need to see the beauty in nature? Why do we combine art with the usefulness of the object? When we speak of "liberation through radical self-reflection," we share how our work can contribute to a more understanding world. It is not radical; it is eye-opening; the beautiful and perfect imperfections open the soul to the creative process and explore the necessity's object. Art is any creative expression that leads to imagination using technical skills to make a valuable item into work or creation. Art is more than traditional painting, sculpting, writing, the sound of music, etc. Artistic creation is an expression of unspoken communication like a language. Art evolves out of necessity through time exposure to history, culture, values, personal interests, and the creation of new materials combined with old. #NativeArt #NanticokeLenape #Art
