KAMPUNG TAMPIN.
Kampung Tampin. A short documentary touching on “Kristang” history and where my family originated from in Malaysia. Tampin Negri Sembilan is a small village town located an hour from the city of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Spilling over the borders of Melaka this is where my ancestors originated from. Post war in 1511 the “Capture of Malacca” resulted with intermarriage between the Melayu’s and Portuguis which created “Kristang” children. The population of Malaysia is 32 million and 0.5 % of that population is Kristang. My family is Kristang. This originally was a short concept video for an assessment in uni called “My Place” but I twisted it with my own approach.
