Highlights and results from my run at I.M.L.E.C. 2019 held at the Leyland Society of Model Engineers in Worden Park from the 12th July to the 14th of July 2019. Full Results: Load: 1 truck 1 adult Coal Used: 0.81 Ib Specific Fuel Consumption: 15.218 Ib/hphr Average Drawbar hp: 0.087 hp Average Drawbar Pull: 7.262 Ib Total Work Done: 105649 ftIb Thermal Efficiency: 1.163 % Average Speed: 4.519 mph Total Distance: 14348 ft Loco: 3 1/2” LBSC Virginia “Eileen” Completed in the early 90s, the loco won the New Zealand cup at Model Engineer exhibition 1993 and ran in I.M.L.E.C 1994 at Gravesend. The loco has a single injector and twin crosshead pumps instead of axle pump, leaf springs throughout, hydrostatic lubricator and gunmetal cylinders with cast iron liners. It had been stored in a box since the year 2000. This year’s I.M.L.E.C. is the 3rd time it has steamed since coming out of the box.
