Devils Tower Wyoming. This was on my Bucket List! It IS drycamping, but so worth it my friends!

If you are even close, drop by this jaw dropping megalith! TV, or the YOU know what movie, doesn't do it justice. The drive from Lusk Wyoming was just gorgeous as well. Even coming west from Spearfish SD. The walk around the Tower from the Visitors center is up and down, but not seriously tiring for older people, just take your TIME! Kids will have no problems. Walking clear around is not necessary in reality. You get a great taste for the Tower and good view of the area if you walk about a quarter of the way around going to the RIGHT side of the trail. The left side of the trail is more with trees and the boulder field. So if you have limited time or can't walk a long distance, take the right side of the trail. If camping.. Most everyone had left the campground by 10:00am. Some leaving early of course. The key to getting in here, since it is First Come First Served, is to arrive before 11:00am. During the busy season, I'd try to get there by 10:00am. The park was full, maybe 2 sites left, by 2:00pm. There are several trails around this park. Recommended for first time visitors and those with limited time is the Tower Trail. Get out there and do it my friends. Do it Garland Style if you wish.
