building a CAMPER PLANE: Oregon Trip Upgrade

Camper Plane 3.0 starts now. We built our camper plane prototype out of plywood- now we’re trying to rebuild it in carbon fiber. This week we flew to Oregon to meet with ‪@DriveOVP‬ where they 3D scanned the entire airplane, redesigned our subfloor system, and we made some of the biggest material decisions yet. Goal: Drop the camper setup from 66 lbs to around 46. Reality: Frost on the wings, gusting winds straight down the runway, and one of our spiciest landings yet. Our goal with this whole setup is to make full time travel as easy & multifunctional as possible out of our plane, since we’re about to hit the road full time! Our current wood prototype is right at 66 Ibs, but we’re trying to keep it as light weight as possible! So we’ll actually be heading up to Oregon this next week where ‪@DriveOVP‬ is helping us create the final design out of a stronger, light weight material!🙌.
