Marlborough Puppetry Festival 2017: Muffin the Mule and Friends

This show featuring the original Muffin the Mule and friends was part of the wonderful Marlborough Puppetry Festival which took place on 8th and 9th July 2017 to mark the 70th anniversary of the start of Pelham Puppets, which is Marlborough's most famous industry. Pelham Puppets are today enjoyed and collected by people across the world, and this event drew local people and collectors alike from across the country, to unite in sharing stories from the industry, and stories of purchases and collections. I had travelled 100 miles from Northamptonshire to spend the weekend in Marlborough and enjoy this fantastic event. In this video, Will McNally (grandson of Ann Hogarth who was Muffin's original puppeteer, and Jan Bussell the producer of the show), is shown operating Muffin the Mule and his friends, including: Peregrine the Penguin, Oswald the Ostrich, Willie the Worm, Peter the Puppy, Hubert the Hippopotamus and Grace the Giraffe.
