UKMMA is an exciting and revolutionary concept to mixed martial arts in the UK. MMA is a real phenomenon, a certain sign of the times, and a natural continuation of classic combat sports, such as Boxing, Muay Thai, Kick Boxing, Judo, Ju-Jitsu, Taekwondo and others. The commercial success of MMA events has been exceptional. MMA has proven to be exciting, totally unpredictable and often brutal with events getting bigger and more popular. In the USA the MMA fights are broadcasted by the largest TV stations and especially pay-per-view transmissions beat all financial records. There the events, depending on the size of venues and the competence of the organisers can gather anything up to 50,000 spectators. Our objective is to provide and showcase mixed martial arts in the UK to a wider audience by creating a more family friendly environment. Our policy will firstly ensure the safety of all athletes and secondly encourage technical displays of martial arts. Accordingly, competitors have minimum requirements in takedowns and strikes and strikes to the head are strictly not permitted. In order to promote the sport we will strictly endorse family friendly atmospheres at our events and not allow any inappropriate or explicit music, nudity or allow the consumption of alcohol at our events. We hope this will allow younger generations to become more interested and begin their journey into mixed martial arts. Ultimately, our events will be open to all athletes who are happy to adhere to our code of conduct. Our launch of the UKMMA championship is a result of the demand for technical development of the sport and has already attracted a high level of talented competitors and media coverage. The competitors selected to take part in our events are hand picked and subject to pre fight selection assessments.
