The linebacker also received the highest grade ever given in this defensive system for his performance in Sunday night's loss to the New York Giants. A review of the tape by the Dallas coaching staff credits Lee with 22 tackles - 17 of those unassisted - against the Giants. That's one more tackle that he had in a game against Seattle in September of 2012. Lee had shared the franchise record with Hall of Fame linebacker Lee Roy Jordan who was credited with 21 tackles in a game against Philadelphia in September of '71. Now he's moved into the top spot solo. "He's been remarkably good,'' head coach Jason Garrett said. "He's a great football player. We all know that. "He's probably playing his best ball right now. His production is off the charts.'' Defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli and his staff have a grading system that awards players for positive plays (example: two points for every tackle) and will subtract point for negative plays. Lee received a grade of 122 for his game against the Giants. Only one other grade above 100 has been given during Marinelli's four seasons with the club. Guess who got it? That's right. Lee picked up a grade of 105 for his effort against Philadelphia in Week 2 last season. "One of the things that we commented on as coaches is it's a lot of different kinds of production,'' Garrett said. "It's direct runs at him, he's productive. It's sacking the quarterback, he's productive. It's recovering a fumble, he's productive. It's coverage, it's runs to the outside, it's tackle after the catch. He's just everywhere. "And he's doing a lot of different things for us on top of the communication and the leadership he has. He is an outstanding football player. His preparation and his instincts are off the charts. "He was unbelievable (Sunday).'' What is Lee's assessment of his performance? "There were a couple of tackles still left out there,'' he said after the game.
