Rant- Bloody New Year (1987) Slasher Movie Review

Also titled ‘Time Warp Terror’, ‘Bloody New Year’ is a British supernatural slasher film released in 1987 and directed by Norman J. Warren, Produced by Hayden Pearce and written by Frazer Pearce. The cast includes Suzy Aitchison, Nikki Brooks, Colin Haywood and Mark Powley. Although it went for more fun and entertainment than scares a chills, the film was received poorly and compared unfavorably to similar horror films in both premise and effects, as well as the acting and dialogue being criticized. Despite its poor reception, a Blu-Ray was released by Arrow. A group of friends find refuge from a boat wreck on a remote island with an old abandoned hotel. Upon entering, they find the hotel to still be running and functional, but the only ones checked in are the spirits of a 1959 New Year’s Party, then starts a series of deadly paranormal events.
