Jacob schemes to secure what God already promised him, trying to force divine purposes through human cunning. Neither brother is a model of righteousness—yet God’s sovereign plan moves forward. This powerful passage reminds us that God works through broken people, not perfect ones. Our salvation is not rooted in our goodness, but in God’s gracious choosing and Christ’s perfect obedience.
