Valentina Lisitsa - filmed by Pieter de Rooij - doing some solo takes of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto #3 in the Abbey Road Studios, London, 9 december 2009, as part of her Rachmaninoff recording project with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Michael Francis, produced by Michael Fine, and later on released by Decca. During two weekends, one in september 2009 and one in december 2009, Valentina recorded Rachmaninoff's piano concerti 1 to 4, followed in March 2010 by Rachmaninoff's Paganini Variations. I did publish a lot of this material years ago, but this is a far more extended version and this time I present the footage in its original HD-quality, whereas I wasn't able to do so 8 years ago. At the time I shot this material with a Canon HV30 (minidv-tape)camcorder. Only recently I was finally able to (re)capture/digitize my minidv-tape stuff in its original quality, after buying a refurbished laptop with a firewire-connection on board. :) Copyright of this video: P.P. de Rooij, Tonal Ties Productions, P.2009/C.2018.
