After two days recovering from back pain and border confusion, I finally head out to explore Koh Kong, a remote Cambodian border town that most travellers skip. Located near the Thai border, Koh Kong is a bit of a mystery — a mix of official buildings, local markets, and half-built tourist dreams. I take a deep wander through the streets, markets, and backroads to see what this town has to offer… spoiler: not much, but it’s still worth the look. In this vlog, I share the three reasons people visit Koh Kong (spoiler: it’s not for the nightlife), check out local street scenes, and stumble across grand houses hidden behind gates, random French architecture, and a café with amazing cakes and zero dogs. It’s hot, there’s no breeze, and half the time I’m just trying not to get hit by traffic that’s driving on the “wrong” side of the road. Despite the lack of big attractions, Koh Kong offers a raw, unpolished look at Cambodian life off the tourist trail — and it’s exactly the kind of weird little spot I love to explore.
