FATHERS AND SONS is song out of FOAM, the new album by Berlin-based drummer and composer Mathias Ruppnig - recorded in Berlin with a stellar lineup and filled with personal stories and deep grooves. this song is inspired by Valery Poshtarovs foto series "Father and Son". https://www.poshtarov.net/ The video shows a live perfomance from December 2025 at Jazzclub Unterfahrt in Munich. At the heart of this project is me – Mathias Ruppnig, drummer and composer – but FOAM is the result of collaboration and shared energy. The album features some of my favorite musicians and long-time collaborators, including Kurt Rosenwinkel, Tony Tixier, Musina Ebobissé, Joandèr Cruz, Lorenz Heigenhuber, and guest artists Matilda Abraham and Roland Hanslmeier. The Studioalbum was recorded in Berlin by Martin Ruch, who also co-produced and mixed the record, with support from Marian Hafenstein as assistant engineer. The cover art was created by Manuel Schaffernak and Paul Pacher. And of course, the project is supported by all of you - the listeners and backers helping to bring it to life.
