Ever wondered what’s actually living in your bong water after a few weeks of “hard use?” I brought some nasty bong and dab rig water into my university microbiology lab to find out if anything was growing. With help from my professor, we took a look under the microscope - pure curiosity, zero formal controls, just seeing what’s there. This video shows Part 1: sampling and microscope work. Part 2 drops soon, where I try to culture anything on agar and see if we can actually grow something. 🔗 Link to Pt.2 - • Bong Water Microbes: Does Anything Grow on... This experiment is not official research, but it’s a perfect example of the random science questions we get to chase down as cannabis chemistry students at LSSU. And for anyone out there wondering, no - nothing grew! Is cannabis smoke antimicrobial, or did I just suck at prepping samples? Who knows, but it was fun to find out!
