Here are her best tips to help you have a strong start this fall. 💡 TMU time. An unofficial but universally accepted rule where classes start 10 minutes after the hour. That 3 p.m. lecture probably will not start until 3:10, giving you extra time to cross campus. 💳 Your OneCard is more than a student ID. If you live in residence, it comes loaded with flex dollars you can spend at spots like Ted’s Kitchen, Oakham Café and Balzac’s. You also get student discounts on Presto, Bike Share Toronto, Spotify, Metro, Basil Box and many other places. 📚 Study smarter. Find a study style that works best for you. Any TMU student can book group study rooms online with their TMU login. Visit slctorontomet.skedda.com/booking and library.torontomu.ca/study-space to learn how. 🙅🏽‍♀️ It is not a race. Four years is a recommendation, not a rule. It is better to feel good about your grades and workload than rush through your program. Your academic advisor can provide help with course load, study plans, program options and more. 🗓️ Find your flow. Whether you are on campus five days a week or building a flexible schedule, make time for what matters, including meetings, coursework and downtime with friends. 🏥 Use your services. From the library to student success and health and wellbeing, there is a lot available to make your life easier. For example, at TMU’s medical centre you can refill prescriptions, get immunizations, checkups and more.
